BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, WI- After some 13 years on the opposition benches from 2011 to 2024 the veteran and seasoned statesman Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) is back on the regional stage as a Cabinet Minister of the Virgin Islands Government.

It was in October of last year that Hon Fraser was invited by Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) to become the Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change.

This week Hon Fraser represented the Premier and the Territory at the 48th Heads of Government meeting of CARICOM in Bridgetown, Barbados, from February 19 to 21, 2025.

No stranger to official travel and representation

While no stranger to overseas official travel, Hon Fraser, for the past 13 years, has travelled to many destinations as an Opposition Legislator, most often to Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Meetings, but this one was different.

This time Hon Fraser was back rubbing shoulders with elected Prime Ministers and Premiers, Presidents, Secretary-Generals of Global organisations and International Diplomats.

At the CARICOM meeting in Bridgetown high profile attendees included United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, the President of the European Union Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, Minister and delegation from Canada, Saudi Arabia along with Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations Baroness Patricia J. Scotland KC among many others.

The Incoming Chair of CARICOM 2025-2026 term is the popular and well-spoken Prime Minister of Barbados, Hon Mia A. Mottley.

Well since you is acting premier,I need you to look into the project at Hodges creek, why are the contractors building two side walks on the road around the turn? The road will be small especially if a truck pulling a container and a water truck has to pass aswell,it is a highway and not someone home entrance, for a corner the road always have to be wider,it seems to these contractors are building the first road in their entire life, why haven't the gov of public works inspect and correct them?
