CARROT BAY, Tortola, VI- With Phillip Smith Robin entering the Albert Stoutt Fisherman’s Tournament in Carrot Bay on August 10, 2023, there was no guessing as to who was going to be the winner.

The veteran fisherman, who has dominated fisher’s tournaments in the Virgin Islands for well over a decade, reeled in the winning catch of 94 pounds.

Smith Robin, who also won the Obel Penn Fisherman’s Tournament held as part of the observances of Virgin Islands Day on Monday, July 3, 2023, was ably assisted by angler Hillroy Sylvester.

For the win, Smith Robin received $300.00.

Taking second place were Irad Smith and anglers Shalia Chinnery and Shakola Romney.

    The young men/ women must show interest and dedication. What he is doing did not come over night.
    Even though he is not from here and you all will call him island man, he always takes part in anything involving fishing culture in the BVIs and will continue to,while he is able to do so.
    So he has no problem in sharing his experience.

    Remember that he did not learn his trade in the BVIs. He came here with it. He also knows alot about repairing boats. He will teach those that interesting and willing to learn.
