Parents reluctant to get children vaccinated since COVID-19 era- Nurse Jean-Louis
Nurse Jean-Louis said this is a dangerous development as the health of children is being put at risk.
‘We owe children protection’- Nurse Jean-Louis
It was during the radio show Talking Points on ZBVI 780 AM on Monday, April 22, 2024, that host Violet Thomas-Gaul commented that many parents seem to be afraid to get their children vaccinated.
“It is true because they have not quite understood,” Nurse Jean-Louis responded.
She continued, “When a child comes into the world we owe them protection. We owe them, just as we owe them love and nurture, we owe them health protection, and two things the baby needs are the breast and immunisation, because the diseases they have to be protected against are deadly.”
Parents reluctant to get children immunised
Co-host Damion C. Grange, also an employee of BVIHSA, then remarked that vaccination is down in the VI.
“I believe because of the outbreak of the COVID virus in 2019, 2020, people were afraid and sceptical but if they get to remember the importance of vaccines, especially the terrible effects that the complications of various infections that the children can get then they should forget about what happened there and move on,” Jean-Louis responded.
It was also brought out during the discussion that people are reluctant about immunisations due to the prevalence of myths surrounding them.
“People just listen to their friends, their neighbours and social media too. But if they listen to reliable sources, like the Ministry of Health, they would get the correct information and myths would be clarified,” Nurse Jean-Louis stated.
She said the side effects of vaccines are mild, although some may fall sick more than others; however, it is a small price to pay considering the seriousness of the diseases being guarded against.
‘Can’t let our guards down’- Nurse Jean-Louis
It was noted too that measles has been on the rise in countries such as India and Afghanistan and there have also been cases in the United States.
Nurse Jean-Louis said the VI is fortunate not to have registered any such cases; however, the territory should not let its guard down.

I agree not one person genetic make up is the same. But vaccines are safe. I’m not talking Covid I’m talking on a whole. Autism has multiple factors to it, from the womb honey! You don’t know the shit persons be placing in their bodies while they pregnant, at what age they having kids now, stop blaming everything on vaccines man! You do some more research too honey. Vaccines does not cause autism….
Now my child is autistic
Breaking news you will never hear...Pfizer can now be sued because they did not inform you of the DNA altering ingredients in the vaccine that are linked to causing cancer.
If we want immunization, promote healthy lifestyle and eating. Encourage people to leave all the processed foods and sugars that's weakening our immune systems.
People are wiser now. Can't keep fooling people over and over
don't do it.
It's imperative for individuals to scrutinize the credibility of their information sources and assess whether they may be compromised.
Complicating matters further, a significant portion of media outlets are owned by the same investors, creating a potential conflict of interest where negative publicity can directly impact their bottom line. Consequently, alternative perspectives are often suppressed, leading to a divergence of opinions and the potential skewing of statistics.
The crux of the matter lies in the fact that the true figures and realities often remain elusive. Despite the proliferation of ailments, discerning the root causes and accurate numbers becomes a formidable challenge. Compounding this issue, it's not uncommon for revelations to surface years later, often through whistleblowers or admissions, disclosing adverse health effects linked to certain vaccine ingredients affecting a significant portion of the population. However, by the time such disclosures come to light, those who have staunchly adhered to prevailing narratives may no longer be present to witness them.
This underscores the critical importance of not merely dismissing common sense but actively engaging in a comprehensive evaluation of the information landscape, understanding the nuanced interplay of interests, and advocating for transparency and accountability in research endeavors. There are many books on the subject matter explaining what is and what isn't, serving as guideposts to navigate through the complexities of the information landscape, akin to walking around blindfolded or having your radio tuned to one station.
(And what is critical thinking)??
When individuals are primarily funded by sponsors or donors, biases can inevitably arise. In such instances, a blend of common sense and critical thinking becomes invaluable in navigating through potentially skewed perspectives.
I have colleagues who are local doctors, and unfortunately, I must admit that not a single one of them bothered to educate themselves about the purported "miracle medicine" during the outbreak. Now, it seems no one dares to voice any negative opinions locally about it. Yet, lawsuits, debates in the House of Commons, and legal settlements are actively unfolding worldwide due to the injuries it has caused. What kind of rational, compassionate human being could turn a blind eye to those affected and dismiss their experiences as mere conspiracies? It's heart-wrenching to witness this indifference, driven perhaps by an unwillingness to confront the possibility of having made a mistake. Instead of acknowledging fallibility, some would rather subject others to the same risk rather than admit the potential erors.
