VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Underdogs Panthers FC have ensured the final of the 2024 FA Cup will not be an all-Virgin Gorda affair, as they stunned Sugar Boys at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground last evening, Sunday, July 14, 2024.

The goal-scoring machine, Nigel Sanderson, was again on target for the Panthers, as he netted twice in the 2-0 win, to follow up on his 5 goals against Positive the week before.

Sanderson stunned the home team and crowd when he fired in a low shot in the first half and completed the double in the second half from the penalty spot. The striker drew the penalty, as he was brought down in the box.

The Panthers’ aggressive defending denied the Sugar Boys attack that included Derol Redhead, Delano Barbour aka ‘Mousie’, and Mohammed Kachour.

The Tortola boys, who had to play in an eliminator to reach the main draw of the FA Cup, will not have their biggest test when they face 2024 National League Champions Wolues FC in the semi-finals at Greenland on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Wolues mauled Lion Heart 11-0 at Greenland last evening.

VG United & One Love also in Semis

Meanwhile, VG United and One Love will clash in the other semi-finals on Sunday.

VG United whipped Rebels FC 6-2 at Greenland Football Field on Saturday and One Love overcame Islanders 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time at the same venue on Sunday.
