More than 500 students across various academic levels have been awarded bursaries from the Republic of China on Taiwan, with the first grants distributed on Monday at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, Villa Campus.

The scholarships, part of the Human Development Resource program between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Taiwan, benefit students from primary, secondary, and technical institutions on the Windward side of the island, including Kingstown, the Marriaqua Valley, and surrounding areas.

During the ceremony, Taiwanese Ambassador Fiona Fan highlighted the country's commitment to educational support. She announced plans to increase scholarship opportunities for Vincentian students studying in Taiwan by 2025.
