Over 130 students in D3 equipped for reopening of school @ back-to-school event

More than one hundred and thirty (130) students attended the Back-to-School Giveaway for students in the district at Ebenezer Thomas Primary School on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
As promised, it was an afternoon filled with children’s entertainment, motivational speeches, snacks, and music.
Prior to receiving their bags with school supplies, the children were given a pep talk by former Youth Parliament Member Dylan J. Penn.
Pep talk
Mr Penn urged the students to aim for success and noted that if they succeed in doing the little things, the bigger things will take care of themselves.
“Success does not come by wishing. Success comes by trying and doing all the little things,” Mr Penn said, adding that the children showed up to the back-to-school event because they cared enough for school to get prepared for it.
One of the keys to success, Mr Penn also shared, is to be respectful, including having respect for oneself.
Also giving remarks was the new Principal of Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, Ashkisha Maduro.
Gratitude
Ms Kishma P. Forbes expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the event as well as her business, Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies, which she said is a newly opened business in Sea Cows Bay.
