PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos – The main opposition People`s Democratic Movement (PDM) won Thursday’s general election, according to the preliminary results released.

The PDM led by attorney Sharlene Cartwright Robinson had won seven of the 10 constituencies and was leading in three of the five at large candidate positions.

The attorney is leading in one of the five at large candidate positions, but Premier Dr Rufus Ewing, who led the ruling Progressive National Party (PNP)  is facing a tough battle to hold on to his position.

Former premier, Michael Misick, who is before the courts on allegations of corruption is set to be rejected as a candidate at large by the electorate, according to the preliminary results released so far.

Cartwright Robinson led a team called “The Dream Team” to the election and had accused the Ewing-led government of having led the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI)  into an abyss for which the citizens are suffering.

The 7,800 voters had three choices: the ruling PNP; the PDM and the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) led by Oswald Skippings.

Dancia as premier of the Virgin Islands, Barry said you will hear. Nothing will get done. On the spot decisions leading to mere confusion. One should not want to be in politics to make history. She has shown her true colours and if the VI knows what's good for them, they will ress down Dancia. The sounding-brass and tinkling cymbals are still shaking with hope for her? Not she, buddy.
