Nyall G. George rented getaway car used in murder of Jimenez- Court
The duo has been charged in relation to the December 12, 2022, daylight murder of Kadeem Jimenez in East End.
Rental vehicle with ‘switched’ plates
According to Crown Counsel Lyn Dailey, George, a US citizen with Belonger status, rented the suspected getaway vehicle on December 11, 2022, and returned it an hour after the shooting to death of Jiminez.
The vehicle in question was reportedly tracking Jimenez on the day he was killed and had parked close to the victim’s vehicle minutes before the shooting in the parking lot of a restaurant in East End. Jimenez had visited the restaurant to purchase food for his daughter.
Dailey said two unidentified persons exited the rental vehicle and that one of them was armed with a ‘long rifle’. Jimenez was shot multiple times when he exited the restaurant and succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The suspects then made their escape from the same direction that they came, which was heading West in the direction of Road Town.
Over 40 spent shells recovered
The court heard that thirty-six .223 and seven .62 spent shells were recovered from the murder scene.
The court also heard that the vehicle identified was a rental vehicle and that the number plates were switched from an abandoned vehicle.
On returning the vehicle, the accused reportedly sought assistance to be transported back to East End.
George, 29, was arrested on December 20, 2022, and his phone was seized by police. It was later discovered that his phone was switched off on the day of the fatal shooting, but that George had access to other sim cards.
Burgos entered VI illegally
Meanwhile, Mr Burgos, who is charged with George was found to have entered the Virgin Islands illegally.
Burgos, 24, is a US citizen with no status in the Virgin Islands.
Both men were not pleaded on the matters not indictable as their lawyers Valerie Stevens-Gordon (representing George) and Michael Maduro (representing Burgos) asked that their clients be pleaded until they receive statements from the Crown.
The accused were then remanded until March 30, 2023.
More details to follow.

2. Don't you know it would be considered a criminal offence known as subjudice for the politicians to have public discourse on an active criminal matter before the Court?
