No vehicles observed in area of fatal accident in West End- RVIPF
The accident occurred shortly before 10:00 pm on Wednesday night.
"As officers of the Road Policing Unit ask for witnesses into last night’s accident in the West End area that claimed the life of a 20-year-old male, video footage extracted thus far does not show another vehicle in the area at the time of his collision," the RVIPF stated in a press release today, December 9, 2021.
Police said Ijahni Scatliffe, 20, of West End was pronounced dead at the scene after his body was found unresponsive within proximity to his scooter.
Video footage shows no vehicle in area
According to the RVIPF, Acting Superintendent of Operations Dariel Robinson says investigations continue at this time but video footage from the scene shows no other vehicles were near or by the accident scene prior to the collision which took place around 9:00 pm.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Road Policing Unit directly at 468-5364 or Acting Sergeant Kishon Leslie directly at 368-9811.
"Investigations are ongoing in the matter," Police said.
