No Obama for Buju concert!
There are reports circulating that the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack H. Obama, will be in attendance. However, our newsroom- after extensive research and making contact with his office in Washington DC- believes the former president will not be in attendance at the event.
Mr Obama, along with his wife Michelle, last set foot in the Virgin Islands in January 2017 on a 10-day vacation.
There is also speculation that other entertainers such as Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter and her husband Shawn C. Carter aka 'Jay-Z' will be here; however, our news desk cannot confirm as calls to both their agents in New York and California were not returned.
However, if there is any celebrity attending the Long Walk to Freedom Concert on Tortola this weekend, Virgin Islands News Online will be the first to break the accurate information.
Security doubles up for Buju concert
When contacted, Police Commissioner Michael B. Matthews declined to comment on all rumours of celebrities attending the concert; however, he stated there is a policing plan in place to handle the increased numbers across the territory throughout the weekend.
“This involves not only increased RVIPF resources but working with other emergency responders, USVI law enforcement, local customs, immigration, DDM and private security. Our intention is to ensure everybody enjoys the weekend events safely and securely,” Mr Matthews said.
The Long Walk to Freedom Concert is being promoted by KT Productions in collaboration with Pumpstation Productions, Westline Entertainment and Xclusive Levels.

Those who attending would be enjoying conscious vibes.
As for the rest of you who passing judgment about what pastors would think about their parishioners attending, it is nobody's business but the people who buy their ticket. You would think you don't believe in Jesus or attend church so it doesn't apply to you. It's God you have to answer to not a pastor. Study to show thyself approved by God.
Like Buju song goes, "He who seeks knowledge begins with humbleness". You can also find that in the Bible: Proverbs 15:14 (KJV) The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
