DUFF'S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- Occupants of two vehicles were lucky to escape without a scratch following a head on collision near Duff’s Bottom sometime around 7pm on April 13, 2016.

A third vehicle was also involved but didn't sustain much damage as the other two.

According to reports, an SUV heading west careened into a vehicle heading east in the direction of Road Town. Another vehicle was also “clipped” during the incident.

It is not clear the circumstances surrounding the accident but, according to reports, no one was injured or taken to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle heading west was overheard taking responsibility for the accident. “I have to fix the man vehicle, I have to fix the man vehicle,” the drive kept repeating.

A source on the scene told Virgin Islands News Online that the SUV heading east was a “brand new vehicle” and that from all indications it was “written off.” She said the driver was heading to town to purchase Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

The accident took place on the stretch of road between Duff's Bottom and Manual Reef. That area of road was closed to traffic for over an hour following the accident.
