FISH BAY, Tortola, VI – The excitement had built up as power boat racing fans gathered at the sea side in Fish Bay, Tortola anxiously waiting to witness the “big boys” bash it out on the water, with No Discipline proving to be the Offshore champion.

Yesterday afternoon August 5, 2012, over eight boats participated in the 2nd Annual Marine Power Service Limited Power Boat Racing with the main event, the Offshore category, attracting three boats.

With strong competition coming from Louisville Slugger driven by Khemoe Foy and Lavar George’s Louisville Killer early in the race, disappointment kicked in when the two boats malfunctioned during different parts of the race, leaving the finish line wide open for Jamal Forde’s No Discipline to comfortably secure victory.

However, in the race prior to the Offshore, the Unlimited, Louisville Killer took victory with Power Play of St. Thomas, captained by Kenneth Steele taking second place.

Chosen Choice owned by Sidanio Smith whopped De Game owned by Gary Winter in the 200-240 hp race while in the 250-300 hp race, CAT raced to victory driven by Mustapha Claxton, forcing Choke Off into second place driven by Chaim Todman.

Speaking to Virgin islands News Online after the races, organizer Charmaine Julian said the event went smoothly with no incidents. According to Ms. Julian, some of the funds raised this year will go towards assisting a special need child Daniella St. Marth. Last year, Marine Power Service Limited gave assistance to parents of special needs children and they hope to continue the annual event, as well as, giving back to the community.
