'No active cases of COVID-19' remaining in VI - Hon Carvin Malone

- Says Territory now free of all confirmed cases with no one in quarantine

BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL), today, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, confirmed that the Territory is now free of all confirmed cases of COVID-19.

"There are no active cases of COVID-19 patients here in the Virgin Islands at this time," Hon Malone said during an episode of 'Honestly Speaking' with moderator Claude O. Skelton-Cline on ZBVI 780 AM.

"The last case, case No. 8 that I reported before, has been confirmed as well and has been released, there is no one in quarantine, no active cases that is with us right now," Hon Malone further said. 

He said an official announcement is forthcoming; however, the recovery of the latest positive case means that the Territory to date has just 8 confirmed cases, inclusive of 1 death. 

The minister noted that the VI's approach was always timely and strategic as part of proactive steps taken while paying attention to what was happening around the world.

He said the administration remains thankful to God for all the favours shown.

      That was the beginning of the show. He took it off after but I still find it strange we are being told no mask no service etc. and we are seeing those who should be leading by example conducting talk shows sitting face to face without a mask.

      There are no active cases of the number of persons tested ...this does not mean there are no active cases in the BVI.

      This is not a time to stop wearing face masks especially with the borders reopening next week.

    Don't forget that it might still persons who have it, and don't know. They can pass it on 2 someone else.

    The curfew times need to be extended to at least 10pm and let those lazy police go out and do some serious patrolling to help prevent the robberies that is inevitable due to the VIP government totally killing the bvi economy and people cant work hence cant pay Bill's or buy food to eat

    IF you decide to ease on curfew please still keep 10:00 or 11:00pm until 06:00am for a good while

    Praises and Many Thanks “Should be/Must be Given to God for keeping these numbers very low And keeping us Safe from this V.. could have taken out our entire population If not contained.. May God continually guide you and your team.. to “Just saying”.. it’s nice that you’re Thanking God for the VIP, but please reverence Him More by capitalizing “G” in His name..
