Nickhail Chambers & Estavan Jefferson to face trial
They appeared before Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo on Friday June 6, 2014.
The court heard that the offences occurred on Monday August 6, 2012 at about 12:00 am on complainant Andrae Sealy of Long Bush who was at the Festival Village in Road Town with two other friends when Chambers and Jefferson approached him and stopped three feet away from him and challenged him to a fight.
The complainant allegedly ignored the two and they walked away. Later at approximately 1:00am the complainant and his friends left the village and walked across the James Walter Francis Highway when the complainant saw Chambers and Jefferson walking from the Sugar Works Museum.
The two allegedly allowed the complainant’s friends to pass but stood in front the complainant. It was alleged that the complainant saw Chambers reached behind his back with his right hand and he felt he was going for a weapon so he hit Chambers and Chambers ran off.
It was at that stage a fight broke out. The court was told that Chambers came behind him and stabbed. The court was also told that the complainant noticed blood coming from his right side and forehead. He was rushed to Peebles Hospital and a report was made to the police.
On August 8, 2012 police met Chambers and questioned him and he said “I don’t know anything about what you talking about.” He was arrested.
The Crown also reported that on August 14, 2012 police met Jefferson and he said they went to ask the complainant, Sealy, why he was watching them and he punched Chambers and the fight started.
