ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park will host a New Year’s Eve Explosion to ring in the New Year 2025.

Deputy CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) Zoe J. Walcott revealed that the artist lineup consists of Virgin Islands artists saying, “We kept it VI because our artists really know how to ring in the New Year.”

On the lineup for New Year’s Eve include the Monea, Revalation, VIBE, Xtreme, Ova Drive, Xclusive Sounds, Razor Blades and The Association.

Miss Walcott said two different stages will be set up for the evening.

Fireworks & Coney Island

“We are gonna have fireworks at midnight. So you asked for it and we are making it happen,” she added.

Tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve Explosion is also being promoted as a family event as children will be able to enjoy Coney Island. Patrons will also have the opportunity to watch movies at Luxury Deck.

Tickets cost $10.00 and children aged 12 and under enter free. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.

New Year’s Gospel Explosion

Meanwhile, the TPPL will host a free gospel concert on New Year’s Day dubbed New Year’s Gospel Explosion.

Performances are expected from Psalmist Romaine Baird, Kenisha, Kilver Nisbett, Minister Verne Profitt, and Kaiel George.

“Don’t miss this amazing event to start your year with faith and music! Bring your family and friends—this will be an unforgettable experience,” a social media post on the park’s Facebook page said.

The post further encouraged those in the Virgin Islands to “start the year off right”.

Not just a Marketing Genius, a hard worker, a serious no nonsense person, with a BVI first mentality. I like the fact that she is giving local talent the exposure, the opportunity to show their skill, talent and creativity. For me, Hope they all take advantage of the opportunity and deliver. I will be there and I will be listening and grading them...its going be a big night. Excellent ambiance. Come out and enjoy have fun. This is a lot about Zoe, but can't ignore the good hard working team working with her and along side her The humble CEO support is key in making this even a reality..

Zoe, if you have a heart you will stop the fire works. STOP THE FIRE WORKS!!!!! Imagine a few minutes of visual for human pleasure and expensive too, whilst the animals suffer. WHY? A logical explanation will be appreciated. It takes on person to make a difference Zoe, be that person this time around since you are in the position to do so. 12:00 on January 1st 2025 begins another day! Go buy dog and cat food and take it to the shelter. Or stop and feed a stray animal.

The days of a few whites calling the shots are over. You either cope, fit in, or have a plan.

For those few whites wo started the vets and human society and Paws otherwise animals on Tortola would continue to suffer for the lack of compassion from many of the indigenous people. Well done PAWS, Human Society for all your good work.

Keep your animals inside for the few minutes of fireworks, they are your responsibility. What? The entire world now must not have fireworks because people cannot contain their pets. Animals who live outside will also survive for a few minutes. GEEZE!!!!!

My dog and cat will be indoors. Fire works spooks dogs and cats and they will run off and get lost.

Fireworks is customary for old years night. The animals will be OK. It's only for a short while. Keep dogs indoors if possible. In the UK fireworks is so popular and there are so many dogs but they are usually kept indoors so it's no problem.

Lots of animal lovers got to the point where they value animals before humans including myself. Humans are disloyal and can’t be trusted.
