The project is being executed by Autland Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd at a cost of three million, nine hundred and fifty-nine thousand, six hundred and ninety dollars and fifteen cents (3,959,690.15).
According to the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), the school construction “is currently on track, progressing on time and within the allocated budget, meeting all technical specifications”, although it has not provided a completion date.
“We are excited where we are, concerning the infrastructure,” Dion K. Crabbe told the RDA on July 23, 2024.
State-of-the-art facility
The new facility will feature sensory and therapy rooms, hygiene and withdrawal spaces and wheelchair accessibility throughout the entire building, ensuring a supportive environment for all students, no matter their ability.
This project, according to the RDA, aims to foster a highly skilled, globally competitive population that will contribute to the economy, all while being housed in a green and resilient facility.
The new Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre is financed by the Government of the Virgin Islands through the Caribbean Development Bank and is being implemented by the Recovery and Development Agency in our remit to BUILD BVI Stronger, Smarter, Greener and Better.
