According to the district representative, instead of the mudslinging, the Virgin Islands (VI) needs messages of hope, not perception management that the ‘old’ NDP team has taken to a new low.

They must agree, we here in the BVI have a lot to be thankful for...night after night this same old NDP is asking, are we better off today than we were four years ago? Let me ask you a question between you and I – eight years ago shares in a privately owned company were offered to the general public to develop mega stores, are the new shareholders better off today than they were eight years ago? NDP records will show millions and millions and millions and more gone straight through somebody door,” the three-term district rep. said.
Hon. Fahie pointed to the $100M hospital signed for $64M by the previous administration who only secured $35M for its construction. In addition to that, the purchase of Prospect Reef which was to facilitate culinary students’ training only accommodated foreign workers and contractors.
“Millions, and millions and more gone through our Treasury’s door... they did not find the time to sign one TIEA causing our financial service to almost be over but found the time to sign Glover [Park],” he added.Touch on the long suffering topic of sewerage, Hon. Fahie disclosed that the national sewerage treatment project was stopped illegally after the 2003 general election. He divulged that foreign engineering firms were engaged to replace the local firms.
“Between you and I, a $24M secret contract was signed with Global Waters to purchase, install and operate a 250,000 gallons per day treatment plant. This is $20 per day for every 1,000 gallons. Imagine $7 to make water and $20 to flush it. The NDP refused to renew the contract with Ocean Conversion; they are the one that made it possible for BiWater to submit a proposal. Today, they are placing the blame on everyone but themselves. NDP records will show because of their actions millions and millions and millions and more gone through Ocean Conversion door,” he charged.
Therefore, he urged voters to let the propaganda come and go because on November 7, the VIP will prevail because they are friends with God.
He continued: “New revenues seem impossible to some but we know that with His help it will come. Prosperity and hope are on the way.”
A warning was also issued to those who are trying to discredit the district rep., “those who are trying to destroy my name should know that Fahie’s name ain’t a game” adding, “The VIP will stand the test of time. You cannot split your votes because you will be putting your man with a mission on the opposition.”
