ROAD TOWN, Tortola VI- The National Science and Innovation Fair 2025 will be held at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex from March 12 to 14, 2025.

The announcement was made by Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Hon Sharie B. de Castro (AL) in a social media video on the government’s Facebook page.

“Our brilliant students from across the territory are gearing up to showcase their creativity, ingenuity, and groundbreaking projects and I promise you don't want to miss this,” she said.

The Multi-purpose Sports Complex will be transformed into a hub of imagination, discovery, and awe-inspiring ideas.

Last year was phenomenal; the bar will be raised this year- Hon de Castro

Hon de Castro, commenting on the success of the 2024 edition of the National Science and Innovation Fair, called it “phenomenal”.

This year, she said; however, the energy will be turned up, raising the bar.

“Imagine walking into a space buzzing with young minds solving real-world problems, interactive displays, hands-on experiments and so much more. This is the future of the Virgin Islands in action,” she stated.

The Education Minister encouraged interested parties to mark their calendars, spread the word, and join the ministry as the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

“Let's make the 2025 Science Fair bigger, better, and more unforgettable than ever. We look forward to seeing you there,” Hon de Castro stated.

Creativity and innovation bring forward ideas that are different to what has gone before. But alas, in our exam focused education system, marks creativity as naught.

My videos ''Realizing Your Creative Potential'' and ''The importance of Art & Creativity'' in schools looks at the issue from a Caribbean perspective.

The Ministry of Education are welcome to screen the videos at the The National Science and Innovation Fair 2025. The content is suitable for all ages. Links are given below.
