National 'District' Basketball League resumes Sept 3, 2021

- Z6ne 6 & Hawks to do battle in Senior Division while Jr East Rockers to face Bay Youths in Jr Division

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After being postponed in early July 2021 due to a COVID-19 surge in the Virgin Islands, the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) National Basketball League will resume with a double header at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Friday, September 3, 2021.

This was announced by the BVIBF today, August 31, 2021.

The district teams having the honours of resuming the action are Z6ne 6 and Hawks who will do battle in the Senior Division from 7:00 pm and Jr East Rockers and Bay Youths who will take to the court in the Jr Division from 5:00 pm.

Weekend schedule

Three games are scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2021 including a clash between the dominant VG Bayside Blazers and Skillful Ballers from 7:00 pm.

Opening play will be Filipinas and A’s from 5:00pm.

The final game on Saturday will be between East Rockers and Mega Mix at 9:00 pm.

Sunday, August 5, 2021, will see another three games played.

The BVIBF said COVID-19 protocols will be in effect.

    Pure stupidness, will the players be wearing mask?????? Are they vaccinated. Y does this have to go on at times like these. Will it be the players alone there and it being broadcast live????

    I thought the gym was now cool with AC since it was a COVID19 hospital. Yh, yh basketball. Pls give a moment of silence for the fans we lost i won't call their names but the basketball fraternity will missed them 4sure.

    Basketball games outdoors is a good idea but indoors with AC is a bad idea. Spectators should be masked and limited.
