Natalio Wheatley gets pat on the back from Governor
It was an impressive piece of poetry recited by the popular commentator and political and otherwise activist Mr. Natalio Wheatley aka Sowande Uhuru on Tuesday July 15, 2014 that apparently won him a public ‘pat on the back’ from Governor McCleary.
The poem showered the HE McCleary with commendations as Mr Wheatley joined his colleagues of the BVI Reading Council’s (BVIRC) Dads Reach Out reading programme in saying farewell to the McCleary family as they prepare to make their exodus from the Virgin Islands.
"He is certainly someone who cares about the society in which he lives; you hear that when he speaks on the radio; you hear that when he talks on the political platform. He cares about the community; he cares about values and I care too about values and I care too about community," the Governor stated.
The political advocate recently publicly announced his affiliation to the newly formed People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) and many are eagerly awaiting the ripening of the national elections campaign season to hear if he will be vacating his position as lecturer at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College to run for a political position.
