Nagico puts up big prizes for Annual Kite Flying & Family Fun Day
Apart from assisting with coordinating of the event, Nagico Insurances will be dishing out several prizes in the Kite Flying Competition.
Prizes in the Kite Flying Competition include for the Largest Kite- $500, Most Patriotic (Guyana or BVI or combination)- $300, Smallest Kite- $250, Highest Flying Kite- $200 and Most Creative Nagico Kite- $250.
To this effect, Nagico Insurances presented a sponsorship cheque to President of The Association of Guyanese in the BVI Mr Marvin Grant on Tuesday April 16, 2019. Making the presentation to Mr Grant was Sharon F. Albayda of the Medical Department of Nagico Insurances.
“Nagico has consistently supported this annual event but wanted to come on board in a significant way this year as we believe it is one of the most anticipated events during the Easter season. Apart from that we are always keen to support events that promote family and unity,” Ms Albayda stated.
Faithful sponsor
Meanwhile, Mr Grant expressed gratitude to Nagico Insurances for its continued support of the Annual Kite Flying and Family Fun Day.
Nagico Insurances has been a faithful sponsor of this event and, according to Mr Grant, the Association is indeed grateful.
“The Association is proud of being able to put on another Kite Flying Competition, this being the 27th anniversary of this event. We are indeed thankful to Nagico for once again coming on board to aid in the success of this event.”
Mr Grant shared that Kite flying on Easter Monday in Guyana is traditionally a big event and families would go out to the parks, community grounds and sea walls to fly their kites and have picnics. “The atmosphere is a pretty sight, kites of all color, shapes and sizes, music, food and fun. We are just pleased to be able to replicate that atmosphere here in the territory and most importantly adding to the cultural diversity of the BVI.”
One of the Association's objectives of the event, Mr Grant added, is to bring all Guyanese together through fellowship “and this event certainly enables that achievement. Everyone is invited to attend and participate. Come on out, bring the entire family and enjoy another wonderful Easter Monday Guyanese style. The fun starts from 12 noon.”
Other attractions include Musical Chairs, Bouncy Castles and lots of Guyanese and local dishes and drinks on sale. Music will be provided by DJ Millennium King.
Additional sponsors of the event include K-Mark Food, Clarence Thomas Ltd, G.T Flavors, Proudly African, Smilee’s Garage, and Road Town Wholesale.
