What’s his real qualifications are?. In the case of an accident where legal action was taken and it ends up in the courts, the lawyers and insurance companies will have that case dismissed immediately.

Is it easy to become an inspector? NO. Is it easy to study at university? NO. Whether the case is dismissed is not this man’s fault, he’s as expert as it comes.

You are the real joker ! Firstly if you read the actual article you would see that he acquired his full Marine Safety Accident Certification from Cranfield University UK , along with Maritme Training at HLSCC , Secondly the role is entirely seperate from prosecutorial organizations, which means he will not and should not be part of any court processes, Thirdly since you clearly do not research before exposing your ignorance, his investigations will greatly benefit the BVI through recommendations which can improve Safety accross the BVI which assists with international compliance and can also boost tourism. I would suggest a simple google before typing on public platforms

You know it's the POLICE OFFICERS that will take LEGAL ACTION ? You know this man's job is NOT to CHARGE, PROSECUTE or give recommendations for persons to file claims in the insurance companies ? Maybe if you research the title and duties/responsibilities of this post you wouldn't sound so #$%^ stupid on the people them post !

The BVI needs a Maritime Safety Officer who will PROMOTE safety at sea. His job is NOT to charge/prosecute a man who breaking all the maritime laws out there. READ AND UNDERSTAND don't READ AND ASSUME.

What is your point? If you used your critical thinking skills for two seconds you would realize the BVI (A place based on Maritime) NEEDS a GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL SAFETY OFFICER. Obviously he was hired because he was needed. JUST SIMPLE MINDED.

There is little to no enforcement of marine safety rules in the BVI.
This is good news for the tourists that visit here. Too many of them have been run over by boats not obeying simple marine rules (idle speed in mooring and Anchorages, proper lights at night).
These new boats now have 3 - 4 powerful engines and drivers are racing around on they phones. New safety rules are needed or we are going to have more fatalities. Thank you for filling this important position!
