Motor scooter rider injured in accident @ Duff’s Bottom

DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- A motor scooter rider was injured after colliding with a vehicle at Duff’s Bottom, Tortola around 3:15 PM today, Friday, April 26, 2024.

The extent of the young man’s injuries is unknown.

Ambulance and police were summoned to the scene.

The accident, which took place in the area of Island Department Store and Tonic’s Bar, resulted in the slowing of traffic.

Police are on the scene directing traffic as investigations into the accident are taking place.

    I can remember one time earlier this year when I drove past Island Department Store and some idiot on a scooter without a helmet did not scream past me going to fast on the wrong side of the road - just the once!

    Bike man dropping like flies around here. Do you know who else uses bikes? Our Asian community. When last you see any one of them splayed across the road. We need to find out from them what we are doing wrong.

    Right now its cheaper for government to ban all scooters, and pay out the riders the value for their scooters, than for NHI to pay all the hospital fees and and rehab for these riders that end up crippled.

    You’re clearly not from the BVI, because you’d know that most people here are family, and for you to be pressing that he’s in the east with people. Family is what he has, and it is his business to BE around. Honestly you can’t be speaking on prayers for anyone if you’re clearly desperate for too many. God will deliver you.
