      @ So Sad To Hear

You should have said, most of these motorcycle and scooter riders are irresponsible people, instead.

Get well soon, hopefully, young one.

Young one, I do hope that from this experience, whether or not it is the Taxi driver or his, that knowledge of traffic Manuevering in traffic will greatly increase, better yet, keep off those things.

Sad to say, but true, the local political VIP Administration, and some parents are partly to blame, others too.

Cars get in ridiculously horrible accidents as well. Are we going to ban cars?? Sometimes it not even always the scooter riders fault when they get into an accident. Vehicle drivers also drive very recklessly. What I do suggest is that we put in place whatever may be needed to slow drivers of both scooters and cars down on the roads as speed is what causes life threatening accidents.

I am indeed sorry for the scooter rider who was involved in the accident. I hope if he recovers from his injuries, he will be able to testify how it all happened and encourage his peers to be careful when riding on the road. Some of these riders are riding so fast that they cannot control the scooters in the event of an emergency. I want to urge them to ride with care to reach their destinations safely. I know that if some of them read this article, they will not appreciate these comments. However, parents, please encourage your children to be very courteous to other road users because if they don't have money to pay their expenses, you will have to foot the bill for your children. Time will tell.

Since Monday the scooter drivers have been driving very recklessly with a passenger on the back of the scooter, in and out of traffic. I was waiting for the traffic light when they came so close they almost touched my mirror and went through the red light. They have been regularly zipping in and out in front of vehicles scaring the daylights out of us. Cars stopped to allow pedestrians to cross the street and a scooter passed all of the stopped cars and almost hit the pedestrians, who had to stop midway crossing the street. This lawlessness has to stop!

How does ne get a scooter license?
I hope the government have road test for them just like they do for the vehicles.
Maybe not. That's why those youths are not familiar with traffic rules, and will always get in an accident. Some of them over take you without blowing their horns, some of them also overtake you on the illegal side and they also quickly cut you off at times if you are in front of them and you are about to make a turn.
They need to have a written and a road test to become very familiar with a number of traffic laws.

The government is turning a blind eye to this situation until one of their own relatives get killed or seriously injured. What is stopping them from putting laws in place to curb this reckless driving amongst these scoter riders???

Those scooter drivers goes in and out passing cars like they own the street. When they get into an accident they deserve it. Government need to band them off the island. They will be picking them up one by one weekly on the island. More accidents will be coming daily.
