Motor scooter accident victim Keon Frederick dies

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Information reaching our news centre is that Mr Keon Frederick, who was injured in an accident at Pasea Estate while riding a motor scooter on February 27, 2024, has succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Frederick, who was the son of athletics coach Ericca Frederick, had reportedly suffered severe injuries to his brain and legs after colliding with a taxi in the vicinity of Delta Gas Station.

A GoFundMe page had been created for the young man to get medical attention overseas.

    what we need is to set up a good organ donation system, if we are going to continue losing our young people this way at least let their deaths help give someone else life

    Scooters ain't the problem. The riders need to respect the road and know that they will always be on the losing side when they go against a car. Them Filipinos ain't getting in accidents because they treat their scooter like transportation not a toy.

      Yesterday I saw a young man on a bike doing a wheely passing by RiteWay. I thought, that if the bike flipped backward, he would hit his head on the pavement and die because he had no helmet on. He also had no plate on the bike. Why was he taking his life for granted?

    He DID NOT collide with a vehicle. Penn man that does taxi always have road rage and knock that boy straight into someone yard. There were witnesses.. all the rest of ayo need to talk the truth. The taxi man did NOT stop either after hitting him!!!

    Sad indeed I often see them popping wheelies on the treasure isle road to delta gas station to prove what??? That they are fearlessly talented?? Looking for a pat on their shoulders? They are not learning from the demise of their fellow riders. Death and the grave are never satisfied..... They live as if there is no judgement. And many do but will wake up 1000 years too late. Sigh. Parents afraid to discipline, courts in experienced in dealing with families. Police couldn't careless... Government to busy infighting. Society held hostage and the funeral homes competing.     I am indeed sorry for the loss of life. Especially, a young one. However, I will say it again the Royal Virgin Islands Traffic Department should continue to educate the road users of the safe driving on the road. My people it is real and those who don't want to listen will pay the price with their lives This goes to all vehicle users in this country. PLEASE, PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE.
