“Most ludicrous thing ever heard” – Hon Fahie on copying NDP manifesto
Hon Fahie was at the time responding to questions from radio hosts Julio S. Henry and Kaream K. Pickering aka "Picko" during an episode of “Hard Talk” on Tola Radio VI, on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
Ludicrous
“It’s the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and I couldn’t believe it made a podium actually as a discussion item… because if you copy something from someone… then you would expect, that you probably have 10 more pages than them, the same amount or 10 less,” he told the hosts and the listening audience.
Hon Fahie continued, “But we have almost 50 more pages in our manifesto, we had 96 pages in our manifesto so the question is… what would we need to copy over there? We had more to offer than what was given in the total document, the only thing that they have been thriving on, that it was a draft.”
Release wasn’t a draft – Fahie
The VIP Chairman says it was a mistake that the word draft was on the VIP manifesto following the first release, however, it was the final document.
“We already visited many groups and had a lot of discussions, our manifesto was ready for release from three and a half weeks ago, they only thing that we wanted to do is to put in one or two areas and it had nothing to do with what’s in their manifesto,” he uttered.
According to Hon Fahie, “With all the issues out there… saying that it is a copy, at the end of the day while it’s some fun and games to have on a podium for some people, I don’t really see the big issue in it.”
