More house lots given out in 3rd District
Reminding residents that in 2007 when he was re-elected he told them that he would continue from where he left off when the VIP left office in 2003 and would pay close attention to the Nibbs Estate, Minister Fraser said among his accomplishments were the establishment of a committee to deal with the Nibbs Estate and that on Wednesday October 5, 2011, the cabinet of the VI approved the award of 50 lots to first time homeowners.
“I am pleased to report that the notices of award were given out at two separate ceremonies on Thursday October 13 and Thursday October 20, 2011.”
Going back to 1991 to 2003, Minister Fraser said himself and the VIP were responsible for subdividing and distributing 81 house lots on the Nibbs Estate.
Not arrogant just self-confident
Again countering opposition claims that he is arrogant, Hon. Fraser said he is not arrogant just self-confident. He added that his approach to getting the job done may sometimes be confused as being arrogant but noted that he is not. “Like I said before there is a thin line between self-confidence and arrogance. I am not arrogant I am just self-confident.”
The long-serving representative also claimed that National Democratic Party (NDP) has always been on a mission to get him out of office. According to him, he fought very hard over the years as representative of the 3rd District and said there were many occasions when the NDP were in power that they tried to stop him from delivering results for the people. “So their only mission is to get Fraser out of office. Longs they get Fraser out of office they are comfortable. You never see so more big posters in any other districts than you see in this one. As if one poster was not enough they put two next to each other. You the people of the 3rd District must be so stupid that a poster would blind you. Let my work speak for me.”
All-inclusive policy
Countering claims by the opposition that he has only being giving Government petty contracts to a selected few in the 3rd District, incumbent representative Hon. Fraser said he has an all-inclusive policy of representation.
“It is not true that I give work to only a few people in the district for my policy is that all are inclusive...people must be honest for if you don’t have documents, namely a trade license, standing certificates from both inland revenue and social security, you cannot get a government petty contract.”
According to Hon. Fraser, petty contracts are giving only to those with such documents and that everyone in the 3rd District can testify of this because he has had two well attended meetings at the community centre for persons interested in doing government contracts.
“It is difficult for me to get people to bring these documents. Waiting for someone to bring these documents sometimes takes as much as a month and causes delays to projects,” Hon. Fraser lamented.
