At least they still had an actual show rather than what we do in BVI and just give the crown and title of Ms World BVI to our friends.

That's patriotism and national pride at its worst. When you are an athlete or a beauty pageant you choose whom you want to represent and you stick to that no matter how many passports you have. This is the world stage. Last year you were a BVIslander and this year you are USVIslander??? As Virgin Islanders, we cannot blame others who want to take advantage of our platforms. We have to protect ourselves from this type of thing. The rules of these pageants should be fixed in such a way that if a contestant does this she forfeits her crown (even if historically only) and she must return all her gifts or face liability to do so. We must protect our national pride
