Medics trailed 18-35 at halftime at the Save the Seed Energy Center in Duff’s Bottom as Nex dominated the scoring in both the first and second quarters; however, Medics found their form in the 3^rd quarter as they rebounded to outscore Nex by 11 points, trailing 40-46 going into the final quarter.

It was another lopsided affair in the final quarter as Medics put up 24 points while restricting Nex to just 10.

The final score was 64-56 in favour of Medics, who were coming off a heavy defeat (51-83) to 79 on August 30, 2019.

Leading the successful fightback for Medics were Dikembe Parson (24 points) and Larique Austrie (13 points).

Francis Tan and Jaimez A. J. Stoutt both had 12 points for Nex.

DA 3^rd vs 79

Da 3^rd who edged past Young Empire 85-82 on Friday, had to face the wrath of 79 on Sunday. They were humbled 59-96 by the ruthless 79.

Kebo Fahie had a game high 24 points as five 79 players managed double figure scores. Xavier Richards had a big all-round game as he netted 22 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, made 3 blocks, 5 steals and 3 assists.

Jamory Romney had 12 points and 12 rebounds while Jolyon Wilson and Jevon Serrant both had 10 points.

The top scorers for DA 3^rd were Nathaniel J. Malone (18 points) and Shaquille Lewis (15 points, 10 rebounds).

Play continues throughout this weekend and the mettle of 79 will be tested when they come up against the Sr Bayside Blazers in one of three games on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
