McMaster retains gold in 400m Hurdles @ Birmingham 2022
Coming in with a time of 48.93 seconds, McMaster’s win placed him ahead of Jamaica and Guernsey who came in second and third respectively.
In 2018, McMaster’s 400m hurdle win gave the Virgin Islands its first ever Commonwealth gold at a time when the territory was still recovering from the destruction left by Hurricanes Irma and Maria a year earlier.
When McMaster takes to the podium for his gold medal, the territorial song 'Oh British Virgin Islands' rather than ‘God Save the Queen’ will mark the athlete’s successful defense at retaining the VI's first Commonwealth gold medal title.
Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) will bring more details.

Guernsey placed 3rd not Kenya.
The bvi on the move we don’t need no white man running our sh**
If you want true independence don’t participate in the commonwealth games as it is “the white men’s” celebration.
We wonder why no one takes us seriously. You could’ve thanked God , your parents, you’re coach and team members but you choose to mention Scoop and binky. They could’ve been mentioned in your interview when you came back to the BVI and were interviewed by 284 Media or JTV. We need better PR training for our athletes.
I also agree with you that our athletes need to be trained in how to respond to questions and how to sell the BVI when they're on the world stage. Perhaps the Tourist Board, the Olympic Association, or GIS can spearhead this.
