LONG SWAMP, Tortola, VI- A man was taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with head injuries after he was allegedly beaten by a group of persons at Long Swamp in the East End area on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

According to reports reaching our news centre, the man who was referred to as ‘Kiddo’ was dealt a thrashing as retribution for allegedly hitting a woman with a pipe the day before.

Photos sent to our news centre showed the injured man on the ground and he appeared to be unconscious.

Police say they are investigating the incident.

“The RVIPF can confirm a report of an assault in the Long Swamp area this evening. One male received injuries and was transported to Dr. Orlando Hospital for treatment. Investigation is ongoing,” the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated last evening.

    People need to stop vigilante justice. If this man allegedly assaulted a woman, the proper thing to have done was to report him to the police. It's improper to take the law into ones hands.

    He needed to be charged for his alleged crimes. Now, these people who assaulted him needs to be charged also, and if he dies of his injuries which is possible here, they need to be charged with murder.

      @Two wrongs dose make a right, Tell you what. Report him to the police and nothing would have come of it. This year there is going to be a lot of vigilante justice in the BVI. For starters the man down sea cows bay up the hill that died three weeks ago under mysterious circumstances that Haitian woman better watch out.

    I don't condole any kind of crime, especially a beaten from an out numbered group; but is high time Kiddo needed to get a beaten. He does not respect anyone at all. He lucky he is still alive. I really hope that beaten will finally make him change to a better old man once and for all. He is too out of order; and need to learn manners and respect.

      if he was beaten to death your response would have been different. You condone with one hand and still condone with the next. Violence from anyone does not resolve violence to anyone regardless.

      I don't know who kiddo is and what's going on, but shooting, killing and beating is not the answer to the society's problems

    Perfect example to him and men that like to put their hands on a Woman. I hope he is ok but he got a good A.. whipping. The first and last man that lay his hands on me, my brother and two of his friends came up from ST.Thomas and stuck a gun barrel in the man mouth that lay his hands on me. The coward was shaking like a leaf begging for mercy. Bet he will think before he ever lay his hands on another woman.
