Man in custody @ RT Police Station attacks officer
He was found guilty by Magistrate Ayanna O. Baptiste-DaBreo, who fined him on Monday March 16, 2020 via video link from Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) where Forbes is currently on remand for an unrelated matter.
Forbes has up to April 16, 2020 to pay the fine, or in default, he would spend 30 days at Her Majesty’s Prison for the offence.
According to reports, Forbes was at the time in the custody of the police at the Road Town Police Station for an offence he allegedly committed.
He allegedly attacked the officer who opened the door to the prisoner’s holding cell at the station to take him into the interview room for an audiovisual interview on the matter.
The magistrate said Forbes’ version of the events during trial was not believable. Forbes claimed that the officer attacked him first.
Video footage outside the holding cell was also shown in the courtroom, depicting when the incident started and other officers coming to the Virtual Complainant’s (VC) aid.
Other matter
Forbes was also previously brought before the court for allegedly attempting to sell baking soda as cocaine to a Caucasian in 2018.
He was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug, and one count of possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
He allegedly committed the offences on two separate occasions.
