Man in court for threatening to kill GF’s father
Kadeem Farara, 23, pleaded guilty to the offences which reportedly occurred on August 14, 2013 at his girlfriend’s Pockwood Pond home which she shares with her parents.
The court heard that the defendant and his girlfriend’s father had an argument outside of the home a week prior to the incident and he was asked to leave.
Farara visited the home on the day in question and allegedly made threats to the Virtual Complainant (VC). The defendant reportedly told the VC, “I come to kill your mother [expletive].”
The VC then armed himself with a cutlass and chased the defendant away down the driveway forcing him to leave on foot and abandon the vehicle he arrived in.
Farara returned with a friend but the VC’s daughter had already moved his jeep. On trying to retrieve his vehicle, the defendant saw the VC coming towards him.
The VC’s daughter allegedly saw the defendant with a knife and prevented him from approaching her father. He later got in his vehicle and drove down the hill.
Magistrate John told Farara that it was a regrettable situation and said there is no justification for going to another man’s home and threatening him. “Walk away, keep your mouth shut,” he said.
He cautioned the defendant, reprimanded him and said he was conditionally discharged. He was instructed not to trespass on the VC’s property and placed both men on a bond of $1000 to keep the peace for twelve months.
