Magnitude 3.5 earthquake recorded near Antigua and Barbuda
SAINT JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda- A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded on Tuesday night near Antigua and Barbuda, the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC) has reported.
The tremor struck at 9:29 pm local time (01:29 UTC) at a depth of 12km. Its epicentre was located about 108km south-east of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.
According to the SRC, the quake was also 61km north-east of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and 131km east-south-east of Brades, Montserrat.
There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries in Antigua and Barbuda.
The SRC noted that the location was automatically generated by computer algorithms and could be revised after further analysis.
