Loud celebration begins in Road Town!
The motorcade, with horns blaring, has rolled through the 4th 5th and 6th Districts where the NDP has taken seats occupied by members of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP).
Even before the counting had reached midway at the polling station located in the House of Assembly building supporters of 4th District candidate Mark Vanterpool had already started celebrating an imminent victory.
And they were absolutely right as Mr. Vanterpool registered a huge victory of 661 votes as against 209 by Dr. Vincent Scatliffe and 95 by newcomer Collin Scatliffe.
One supporter even made his way into the compound of the House of Assembly where the ballots were being counted to express his jubilation as Mr. Vanterpool remained calm while working down a meal.
Some persons also honked their car horns as they made their way past the HOA building while others gathered to express their congratulations to the candidate.
The "boys on the block" were also out on the road to show their joy at the victory and also brought out a casket to signify the "death" of Dr. Vincent Scatliffe and Collin Scatliffe. The casket bore the names Dr. Do Little and New comer.
Meanwhile, shouts of sweet victory emanated from various parts of the 5th District after the shocking Delores Christopher victory over Elvis Harrigan was announced late this evening.
