‘Long list of VIP achievements since 1995’ – Hon Julian Fraser RA
Stoutt, who left these earthly shores in 1995, was one of the founding members of the Virgin Islands Party and has been credited with being the modern day Moses of the Virgin Islands.
However, a caller into the show aired on ZBVI 780 AM between the hours of 8:00 and 9:00 PM asked the panel that included Honourable Fraser and senior VIP member Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) whether the VIP had done anything since the death of former Chief Minister Stoutt. She said that in her opinion, nothing had been done since then.
However, hitting back at the caller, Hon Fraser expressed his strong disagreement with her and said that there have been a lot of achievements.
“If you look at the TB Lettsome Airport, the road networks, all of the scholarships…it is not true that we have done nothing. I could go on listing things until the end of the show. We have to be fair,” he said.
He pointed out that hundreds of thousands have been spent on scholarships for young people under the VIP administration in the years following the death of H. Lavity Stoutt.
Speaking also on the programme, Honourable Fahie said that while the caller was free to call and have her concern addressed in a respectful way, he reminded her that history must be recalled and not rewritten. He too expressed his strong disagreement with the caller’s views regarding what the VIP has achieved subsequent to 1995.

Try buying a building in Hong Kong, what you are doing in comparing the BVI house in London to the rental space in Hong Kong. 00000, please try to be fair and balance.
- Revamped curriculum from PreK to Secondary
- Cruise Pier Development
- Small Business Bureau
- New Peebles Hospital
- New Airport
- Youth Unemployment Services
That's just a few. Sit there with a straight face and say that these things haven't improved people's lives.
- Technical school (yet jobs continue to go to unskilled workers from other countries)
- Revamped curriculum (lower graduation rates and those who do claim to be unprepared for higher education or work)
- Cruise Pier Development (Continued scandal)
- Small Business Bureau (More small businesses closing their doors)
- Peebles Hospital (money pit, too long to complete and limited health services on sister islands)
- New Airport (So poorly planned that the runway is too short to actually permit majority of airlines)
- Youth Unemployment Services (Yet more Youth seeking employment than ever before)
When you throw that many softballs right down the middle, it's fairly easy to smack them out of the park.
despite what some people think, I am for the most honest and independent candidate who will follow the law and concentrate on good governance, not private gain.
