ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Local news tabloid BVINews.com has been today, July 13, 2023, wiped clean of all its sensational news articles and other content with just the header logo and footer section of the website populated.

Visitors to the website up to 15:30hrs today were greeted with a feature caption saying “there are no featured posts to be shown in the slider. Start marking posts as featured, or disable the slider from Theme Options.”

Sources have told our newsroom that the website was completely down this morning, however, the wordpress theme of the site was reportedly restored sometime today.

Website hacked?

The website management is yet to release a statement on the reason for the downtime or whether the site was hacked, however, efforts by our news center to contact the publication’s owner Julia Donavan proved futile.

Over the years, BVINews.com has been slammed on several instances for false and unverified reporting, in addition to being threatened with legal action over alleged libel.

Our News Centre will bring more details as it becomes available.

Are you suggesting that the government ought to have and perhaps did actually take the website down to prevent reader exposure to negative commentary? That would be a shocking overreach that is indicative of a totalitarian regime.

We are pretty sure the only few people crying over this tabloid being down is the Past & present Governor, past & present UK commissioners of police, UK stationed PR team and the local ones, Cindy, Marlon and his sidekick, and just a few others who are selling out their people of the BVI.

Not only they are ra***t, but they hate the BVI and its people. They block most, if not all positive comments about anything good in the BVI, its people and or leaders whether political or otherwise. They are media hitman for the ra***t dictatorship agenda.

The colonial masters and their PR team back home just loss their brainwashing machine of the people to aid in their unjustified attempt to try to takeover.

They always go out of their way to shield the Governor and UK from any comments not in favor of their ill-conceived high-handed actions.

They should call that broken down tabloid the spin doctor news site because every wrong the governor and anyone or anything under his responsibility does, they spin it as a positive and blame others, while everything good the people of the BVI and our leaders do, they spin it into something bad and corrupt. They also screen the comments to mainly post the ones that support their position in the colonial mission. They are dangerous and a disgrace.
