Hon. Skelton: Fraser ran away from KATS “like hot potato”
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon. Ronnie Skelton found it ironic that one of his colleagues in the House of Assembly (HOA) was dishing out advice on the BVI Water Sports programme when at one time he claimed the district representative “was running away from it [KATS sailing programme) like a hot potato”.
Council for districts 7 & 8 up & running

Recreational facilities can raise funds for maintenance - Walwyn

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With the Virgin Islands currently exploring options to incorporate alternative sources of energy to help reduce its dependency on oil, one island in the Caribbean which is already seeing savings up to 15 percent from using alternative energy would be willing to assist the VI in its quest to develop such a project.
UWI Scholarship $$$ to local students should decrease - Dr. Potter
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In relation to ‘significant changes’ that are to be made in the educational system, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr. Marcia Potter recommended that the $25,000 scholarship given to students attending the University of the West Indies (UWI) should be reduced and a portion of that money should be kept by Government to pay the economic cost to the university.
Third District projects at a standstill?
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Budgetary allocations for some of the major projects in the 3rd District are not flowing and its representative Hon. Julian Fraser, RA has no idea of where the funding will come from to complete them.
Premier – We cannot just discard things that were done
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With concerns raised over the past few months since the National Democratic Party (NDP) Government took office in November 2011 that they seem to be sidelining projects that were started by the previous administration, Premier Dr. D. Orlando Smith announced that his Government will not be discarding such projects.
