Local entertainment & reflections kickstart VP Bank’s 30th anniversary year



In an April 3, 2025, press release, the bank described the evening hosted at the Moorings Yacht Club Restaurant as one which blended elegance with rich cultural ensembles.
The event was patronised by Deputy Governor Mr David D. Archer Jr, Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4), and Junior Minister for Financial Services and Economic Development Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE (AL).
Leading private bank in the region
The release added that since its establishment in 1995, the Virgin Islands (VI) branch has grown to become the leading private bank in the region, offering a comprehensive range of private banking services to individuals, intermediaries, and asset managers.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Marcel Tschanz said they are proud to be a trusted partner to their clients over the past 30 years.

Past & present employees recognised
Ms Ghana Skelton was recognised as the bank’s first employee in the VI, while Ms Claudine Wheatley was recognised for being the longest-serving current employee by VP Bank Group CEO Urs Monstein.
The bank also celebrated milestones achieved during its thirty years in the Territory including, receiving its banking licence in the VI in 1995, securing its Securities and Investment License in 2014, receiving its VIDIC Certificate, safeguarding client deposits and enhancing financial stability, and achieving a 300% increase in Assets Under Management within 10 years.
VI culture celebrated
The evening was also described as a resounding success in the release, as the VI vibrant culture was showcased.
Guests were treated to electrifying performances by 2020 Gen-Y Factor winner Toriah Pryce, Mr Elmore Stoutt featuring the BVI Heritage Dancers, and an art exhibition by renowned local artist Reuben Vanterpool, who was also the winner of the VP Bank Award for Visual Arts at the 2024 Virgin Islands Icon Awards.
