LIME to roll out cable TV following rebranding – CEO Tim R. Ringsdore
“This is basically TV over your broadband service,” said Ringsdore in a recent exclusive interview with this news site.
“For that you would need super fast speeds to do that and as you know we’re rolling that out across the island and we’re doing a lot of work on the network to be able to support that,” he said.
When asked what the timetable was for this, he said the latter part of next year. “That’s the plan at this time. It depends how fast we can roll the service out in the BVI. But as I said we as a team are doing quite a but of work on the network as we continue to upgrade it to support those new exciting services.”
Demand is there
Asked what research was done to establish whether or not there is demand for the new services, Ringsdore indicated that the need was there.
“I think there is demand for it definitely. I think content and the quality of the content are what customers need to look at as to the type of content that we are offering compared to our competitors. We believe we have the richest content and we continue to have great negotiations with various content providers,” he said.
Ringsdore noted that it should be all about having choices.
“At the end of the day the customer should have a choice and that’s a good thing for the territory. So a good choice with a good variety of content the customers will make their mind up. We are confident that customers will choose the Flow TV content because we think it has probably got the richest content.”
Changeover in a matter of weeks
With regard to the rebranding of the company to Flow, Ringsdore said that this should be taking place over a matter of weeks.
“Obviously you’ve got a lot of posters and signage that have got to be taken down and new ones put up. We are hoping to complete that in a number of weeks. We’re actually in the middle of planning that at this moment so hopefully it will be a relatively smooth process,” he said.
Telecommunications provider Digicel BVI had earlier this year announced that it was also rolling out a cable TV service which it said would be better than what was offered in the territory with regards to cable television.

Most people are saying "LIME, please give me the Internet service I am paying for, my Internet service is NOT GOOD and desperately needs an upgrade" and LIME is saying "kool, how about some Cable TV"
Ok, for a "Communications" company, LIME needs to work on it's listening skills. Just a little advice, maybe you should give the people what they want and not just what you think they need....shouldn't always be ALL about the $$$$$
Listen I know you want to do big things but try handling/finishing one service, prove that you can adequately provide that product/service from trying to dip your hand in everything. How long you all say you providing Superfast internet now? And I doubt you reach any further than Road Town yet rates going up for people internet. The problem I have with businesses here are they need to worry more about giving quality basic services that represent the core of their business, rather than setting out and hanging their hat higher than they can reach and providing subpar services for basic aspects. The whole island can't get the increase the speed, but essentially you pay yourselves more for providing us with the same MBPS speed by increasing our prices. Now to top it off you going to provide tv? You do realize that for that to work you have to have quality speed right otherwise you will just be selling a buffering box??
So later next year for internet TV, MEANS 2 yrs from now right? Because the NEW SPEED rates which were announced and was provided with our monthly bill to let me know i getting charge more still haven't materialized. MY INTERNET STILL SLOW. How about u get that fixed first
He gives us phone choices, he give us water and sewerage and he give us good roads and traffic lights
