ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - With the customers always in mind, LIME continues to deliver to the best of their ability by providing the best service and the most advanced technologies that are on the market.

Yesterday June 29, 2012, LIME BVI introduced and launched to the Virgin Islands community, its recently installed 4G network and its Samsung SX that is currently in stock.

In an exclusive interview with General Manager (GM) of LIME BVI Sean Auguste, he explained that LIME is always on top and the occasion is a fantastic time for the VI.

“After months of preparation, our 4G (fourth Generation) network is finally launch and we are happy,” said Mr. Auguste.

With the fourth generation mobile network introduced to the Territory, according to Mr. Auguste, users are no longer restricted to Wi-Fi access or home internet. He added that 4G provides internet access anywhere.

“Having access to high speed internet at any location in the BVI opens up a world of endless possibilities,” said the GM.

Reminiscing, Mr. Auguste stated that he never imagined technology to be as advanced as it presently is.

“Sometimes when I sit and look at customers, children, technology and myself who use the internet, I would have never thought years ago that this is where we would have been with the internet, and I constantly remind myself that this is the iceberg, customers will make the most of this and we are the ones providing it to better their lives.”

Despite all the happiness of launching their new network, LIME’s GM expressed that in preparation for the launch, there were challenges.

“We had our mobile network before that was provided by a company called Nokia, the network we have now is by a company called Ericson, so we had to install the networks side by side, delete the Nokia network and put the Ericson network in service to ensure that the customers had full access to their phones.” He added that those changes were done at night.

Other challenges that affected the company while preparing for 4G were, “the fact that the equipment has to find its way to the BVI and it didn’t come in time, the weather and the network experts missing flights to the BVI.”

Mr. Auguste told this news site that LIME BVI is the third Caribbean Territory to introduce 4G. The first was Cayman Islands and then Barbados.

“This is a part of a programme called G-Evolution, a project presently being conducted by LIME across the Caribbean to introduce the world class service to its customers, one country at a time.”

To commemorate the auspicious occasion, a number of promotions were done to thank LIME customers and encourage others to make LIME their service provider. Customers who visited the LIME Flagship store located in Road Town, were treated to a mini buffet table where they ate as much as they like. LIME also introduced to their customers the ‘Quad bubble’ which allows customers to get 4 times the amount of money they top-up.

The recently received Samsung Galaxy SX was also on sale along with other smart phones.

With all those promotions, Mr. Auguste said that this is just the beginning and over the weeks there is much more to come. He said that as long as technology keeps advancing, LIME will keep monitoring and offering the best products.

Being the first to introduce 4G to the Virgin Islands, he said that it is a great feeling and a feeling that he enjoys. “The entire company and staff love it”.

He stated that it was no race introducing the new network to the Virgin Islands. “The motivator was that we try to keep in touch with our customers but at the same time we keep listening at what is happening out there. It is a mixture of customer requests and updated technology.”
