LIME BVI vows to use local talent & images wherever possible
The communications giant has pledged to do all in its power to ensure that those talents are promoted and exposed and has even created its own platform to achieve this. This platform is the recently launched LIME for Local and Talented.
The first winner was Kadia ‘kadie Kade’ Turnbull who recently participated at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Weekend in New York, USA. LIME BVI had also assisted Ms Turnbull to experience the enviable opportunity by sponsoring her airfare.
"We are so intent on using local talent whenever and wherever we can that we are using local artist, directors, photograhers and models to do campaigns that are otherwise created in other Caribbean islands. It builds integrity and trusts in us and we will also allow each person to use the collateral they create to build their portfolio," Mr Auguste further said.
The General Manager’s comments were also supported by Head of Department of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Mr Kareem-Nelson Hull.
“We are going against the regional packaging of the same or similar images used in every market. This does not mean that LIME BVI is separate and apart from our neigbouring business units, but we are now materializing what we have always known, that if you are intent on connecting to your community there is not always a need to look outside the community.
Meanwhile, the second winner of the Lime for Local and Talented will be revealed this Friday October 7, 2013 at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall.
"Marketing and image placement is a wonderful opportunity to allow Virgin Islanders who want to horn their skills in modeling, hosting or brand representation a platform to do so here first. We are committed to rewarding each person that participates in our campaigns because we have to send a strong signal that your talent has value for us as does aligning your talent with the #1 Telecommunications company in the Caribbean and Virgin Islands," Mr Hull emphasised.
Meanwhile, LIME BVI has already been partnering with a number of local talents for various projects. Those persons include Graphics Artists Desiree Smith, Dwayne Mactavious and Devon Osborne II; Photographers Buddah Mather, Khari Adams and Dame Peters, who have shot all campaigns to date as well as artistes McKenzie Baltimore, Jr., Elmore Stoutt and Travis Walters, who are said to be collaborating on a future project.
Other names being associated with LIME BVI are Lee Richardson, Kyla Forbes, Robyn Edmonson and Jenely Fraser.
“We have just offered a once-in-a-lifetime internship to a well-deserving young man who will be introduced at a later date that will allow him to complete his requirements for graduation. And of course each month a new winner of 'LIME for Local and Talented' will be presented,” Mr Hull told Virgin Islands News Online.
