ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- With candidates being declared for the 2023 General Election, Businessman Lesmore Smith has seized the opportunity to remind the public he will also be in the fray, as an At Large candidate with Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM).

Mr Smith had told the public since November 2021 that he was contesting the 2023 election.

Yesterday February 5, 2023, as the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) was preparing to cast votes internally to confirm its list of candidates, Mr Smith of Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) took to social media to let the public know he has no change of heart on his 2021 announcement.

‘I’m an At Large candidate- Lesmore Smith

“Pleasant good morning to you and family. [I] Pray all is well with everyone. Just letting you know, I’m an At Large candidate in upcoming general elections and asking for you and your family support Thanks much, God blessed,” Mr Smith said.

Mr Lesmore Smith first ran as an Independent in 2011 when he contested the Fifth District seat and lost. He ran again in 2019 as an At-Large candidate with PVIM but was again unsuccessful.

Mr Smith will now be hoping the saying ‘third time’s a charm’ will ring true.

Lesmore my bouy leave that thing alone. Continue to support the community through charitable means. For all others who are thinking about going into Politics. Suppose you are elected to an Office where you have to represent the BVI at an International conference? Just think....I have seen a lot of Politicians struggling to give an address locally. I just think some people should just stop trying.

Lesmo is a smart business man, now I didn'r say good, I said Smart, he hss a good security business by getting a lot of x soldierz and poluce officers from around the region. I commend him for that, but come on man he cant be charging $20 plus per hr and paying his gusrds $8 & 9 P .H, Be good and step those guards up to $ 11 - 13 P. H base on performance...I thinkk law makers need to look into a security guard salary, make it $11.00 minimum and have a claw in the Law where 3 months tfaining is reauirwd by a professional before they can be place on duty.. Stick to security Lesmo, work with the govt to open a rdputable and certified security trIning facility...

All I will say is.... If a man can't own up to his responsibilities and do what is right by his own SON then why on earth would we want him making decisions for our country?
