Lesmore Smith announces candidacy for 2023 VI General Election
Smith had run for office in 2019 under the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM), a party formed by members who had broken away from the National Democratic Party (NDP).
"I am thanking God...to continue to trust him, despite the challenges, despite the obsticles, despite I didn't win the last election, despite the next election I am going to win.
"I am telling you by faith, and I told brother Ronnie [Skelton] last election they were going to only have nine delegates."
"So this time around, Blue, God loves you."
Smith was at the time speaking at a ceremony dedicating and officially opening his new business building 'Victoria's House of Commerce' at Long Bush on November 26, 2021.
Thie event was also attended by Mr Ronnie W. Skelton, along with PVIM Representative in the House of Assembly Honourable Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) and Opposition Leader Honourable Marlon A. Penn (R8).

Please can we make sure that candidates declare all memberships, allegiances, and income sources before they are allowed to run and that the declarations are all public. We want it written and signed so we know who is scratching whose back before we vote.
