ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A week of activities to demonstrate against Governor Daniel Pruce’s unilateral decision to revert Acting Commissioner of Police (CoP) Jacqueline E. Vanterpool to her role as Deputy Commissioner of Police ended on Friday, November 14, 2025, with a march for democracy.

The march began at the Road Town Police Station and ended at the Governor’s Office, where some of those who gathered shared their thoughts.

Governor Pruce used the reserve power granted to him under the Constitution of the Virgin Islands to decide to remove Vanterpool as Acting CoP, though the Police Service Commission recommended that she be appointed to the position.

UK is an unfaithful partner

Social commentator Pastor Claude O. Skelton-Cline, during his contribution, said the Governor, as an individual, is not who they are fighting, as the Office of the Governor is not an individual but an institution of the United Kingdom (UK).

“We want to say to the United Kingdom that is the institution, that you have been and continues to be an unfaithful partner in this relationship, and we have marched here today in the words of our dear sister to begin the filing of our divorce papers from the United Kingdom.”

He continued, “This is a bad marriage, this is a toxic marriage, this is an abusive marriage, this is a marriage that violates our people.”

As it relates to Governor Pruce, Skelton-Cline said his recent moves to declare that he was simply following the Constitution and did not break any laws are correct.

The law itself is broken

Skelont-Cline, however, said that while Governor Pruce did not break any laws, the law is broken.

“There used to be laws that forbid us to learn to read, and they kept the law, but the law was broken…there used to be laws that forbid us to learn how to write, but the law itself was broken.”

He added that today, the legislation in the 2007 Constitution of the Virgin Islands gives him reserve power, but “there is something fundamentally wrong” with it.

“The law itself is immoral and unethical that you can have a population of some 16,000 voting individuals and one somebody can have a super majority vote and undo what the 16,000 people have said, there’s something wrong with that. This is the 21st century, this is the year of our Lord 2025, and still we are showered down with the rains of colonialism.”

Skelton-Cline declared that “enough is enough”.

I am not joining any March. They only want us as numbers. In the political game that they are playing. You guys only need us to join you
For your convenience other than that our services is not needed. The Hispanics in the US voted for the Cheeto man thinking he was going to turn on blacks and he turned on the same Hispanics. They are now turning to the blacks to join forces with them.

Noone has turned on anybody. Paranoia and indoctrination with the left has always been a problem. A local COP is the best for the island so long as they find a not corrupt one.

The radio is back on. But is sounds like the radio is not working. It is broken. It is broadcasting these immoral and unethical words to gullible media houses who cannot help but print the same words unquestioningly. There is something fundamentally wrong. Enough is enough. If we want to listen to the radio we will buy on and turn it on.

Is there any news of the huge march on Friday?

Whether some for or against governor Daniel Pruce decision made, he is constitutionally within his boundary. Black racism is equally as evil as white racism, and other ethnicity bias.
Governor Daniel Pruce has done us no wrong. In this world of hiarachy principles, the senior partner of a joint partnership more likely, and do prevailed in final decision made. The British Virgin Islands is not exclusive of this political International norm.

It was God, not human beings that approved this leadership role in males over females leadership in defense matters. Can you, others, and I overruled His Devine will, and proper without not having to face, and suffer the ultimate consequence? No. (nope)

Jacqueline Vanterpool, calm down. Hole on to your deputy of Commissioner Joy. Don't be lead by likes of CSC, and other like minded people. Don't forget that the B.V.I remains one of the UK'S Overseas Territory, not ours, not yours, not mine, and certainly not our sometimes right m, but most of the times wrong politicians on crucial issues such as violent gun crimes, and illegal drugs use.

It is highly disingenuous, myopic, etc, for Virgin Islands (VI) ( British), an OT of the UK and a non-self governing territory, for local government officials constitutional negotiators agree for the VI to be self-governing, and for the UK to have unilateral power, falsely ,blindly, believing that the UK would not exercise the unilateral power,ie, reserve, assent, special powers, etc. That is fools gold, foolhardy, ‘chupidness’, etc, buying a pig in a poke and now bringing its pig to a fine market, as the old people use to smartly say. Further, the colonialists cannot be trusted. Did they not boldly claim that they conquered and colonized the VI under the guise of a civilizing mission, not the true reason(s) of exploitation, expropriation,,exclusion, control, racial hierarchy ,special privileges, entitlements, etc.

Moreover, a next constitutional review is in the offing, so will VI negotiators agree to the same dependency modeled, rubbish constitution, retaining unilateral power for the UK-appointed Governor? Will this new constitutional review posits the VI farther down the self-determination road?
