ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Carvin Malone (AL) has urged persons who are under a quarantine order, to adhere to such orders to prevent the spread of the virus.

The Health Minister made the plea during a COVID-11 announcement on September 20, 2021, during a COVID-19 update.

“I want to appeal to persons to adhere to their quarantine orders.   Quarantine is the way we stop the viral spread of the disease.  It is very important to this Territory that persons abide by the restrictions placed through their quarantine orders.”

According to Hon Malone, the local Public Health Unit, the Environmental Health, and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) collaborating to crack down on breaches to quarantine orders and along with enforcement of COVID-19 public health measures.

Following public health guidelines - Hon Malone

He reminded persons to not only abide by the quarantine order but to adhere to public health measures, sanitise, wear their face masks as well as social distance when necessary.

“We have not only increased enforcement to breaches in quarantine orders, we have also increased enforcement of other public health measures.,” he said.

Hon Malone said it is critical, wise, and important for the VI to recognize and appreciate the challenges that the island nations of Jamaica, Bahamas, Bermuda, Grenada, St. Lucia, Antigua, St, Vincent, St. Kitts, and others are now coming to grip with.

“They are not out of the woods, and we here in the British Virgins Islands are not out of the woods. Here in the BVI, we cannot and must not take the goodness of Jesus for granted!” he said.

Who is ensuring these ppl stay in doors. MOH you to do better than this VG is small to have so many infestations soon the hold island will have be isolated from the rest of the Virgin Islands.

No quarantine right next door in the US VI and they been open this whole time. They have only 66 deaths for a population of 150,000 people! Economy is booming over there.

Meanwhile we have a dead economy. Fumbling ridiculous curfews and quarantine on arrival if not fully vaccinated. 37 deaths in a population of maybe 30,000. Do the math.

Our approach is not working and is clearly not the best approach. Visionless leaders and decision makers operating our country in fear.

Agreed, no other place has quarantine anymore. You get tested every 72 hours. The BVI is always backward in so many areas.

Why should quarantine enforce when %99 of the cases are false positive? A better and accurate testing system is what need to put in place.

YOU SEE HOW POLTICK WORK THE PEOPLE FORGET AFTER SIX MONTHS.
IT IS STRANGE HOW THE MINISTER IS NOT TALKING ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC TRACKERS WE NOW HAVE TO CRACK DOWN. SO GOVERNMENT SPEND MILLIONS FOR DIGITAL TRACKERS THAT NEVER WORK AND MINISTER HAVE THE GUTS TO TALK ABOUT CRACKDOWN.

PS: PCR FALSE POSITIVE TEST IS TO KEEP COVID GOING AS LONG AS THEY CAN
