ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Opposition member Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) has accused the recently published second volume of the law enforcement review of being steeped in racism and a disrespect to the people of the Virgin Islands.

Like his House of Assembly (HoA) colleagues, Hon Skelton blasted the United Kingdom written review titled, ‘A Review of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Bodies in the British Virgin Islands Volume 2 – a road map for 2025 to 2035.’

Compiled by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), the over two-hundred-page document included 375 recommendations that cover “a wide spectrum of issues”.

Review is racist; UK is most corrupt- Hon Skelton

Not mincing his words during the Continuation of the Third Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth HoA on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Hon Skelton said this review belongs in the garbage, as it attacks his character and that of the people of the Virgin Islands.

“I am angry, and for any Governor to believe that this is a report to impose on people of colour…I won’t stop short of saying the report is a racist report.”

The section of the report which speaks about the employment of expats, he said does not speak about expats who share the skin colour of Virgin Islanders.

“Every person they recruit to come into these Virgin Islands, they’re not of our colour and you want me to sit here at my age, knowing where we came from and to practice some diplomacy I don't know anything about.”

Hon Skelton also blasted the report for stating the VI, in its findings, has corruption and so should not be allowed to “manage” its affairs.

He described the UK as the “most corrupt people on earth”, further accusing them of “corrupting people from time they existed”.

Review consists of recommendations not laws- Hon Skelton

Calling it a “sad day”, Hon Skelton said this report does not take into consideration the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the VI.

“There are about thirty thousand of us who live in these islands and for anybody to write a report and we accept it as little children and, Premier, they’re recommendations, they’re not written in stone like the laws of the…Persians, they’re just recommendations written on paper that can be erased, let us not allow them to do this to us Premier.”

Hon Skelton added that the second volume of the law enforcement review is disrespectful to the people of the VI and to the House of Assembly.

"He described the UK as the “most corrupt people on earth”, further accusing them of “corrupting people from time they existed”." Hmm. Andrew Fahie; BVI Airways; the Anegada Solar Farm (heard anything about that since the principal of the company [supposedly] building it went bankrupt - AGAIN), and the wall around the school. Meanwhile, the Territory's so-called leaders want to just forget about "The Business Case" and plunge it into multi-millions of dollars of debt to expand the airport at Beef Island, and we know that if that happens, EVERYTHING will be "on the up and up" (yeah, sure).

I lived in these VI as an immigrant prior the arrivals from updeplace..,crime was zero for years . Not all places have crime but with the demographic preferrnce en mass demonstrated here and for nefarious reasons, crime was and is guaranteed...in their homelands and in their neighborhoods.,,a guarantee...and this import,a crime in and of itself,it was / is guaranteed. The peoples of these VI should if at all possible, seek compensation from the Gov.for deliberately importing crime crime makers guaranteed and for their personal selfish enrichment knowing that the result would be destructive to the people and BVIslands,
Note the ease and comfort of the relationship with seeking DR alignment...most especially currently.

The most devastating crime committed against these VI and its people has been the massive human import from pl,aces infamously famous for ongoing crimes, most especially murders and little family values resemblance to that of ours...which sustained our success and values
The duly elected used these importatiion to disguise and assist their personal! participation and that of! other participants.
This has changed the culture to that of the notorious failed CARICOM.

Here is a news flash and a reminder to the Neville Chamberlains, Benedict Arnolds, along with those afflicted with the Stockholm syndrome, slavery and colonialism are dehumanizing, brutal, exploitative, racial supremacy institutions, which categorize blacks as brutes, savages, aliens, etc. who they equate as inferior, farm animals. They believe in a natural ordering of humans have always seen the brutes and savages roles servile, creating wealth for the masters, providing for their comfort and promoting their false civilizing mission, patronizing philosophy. They pretend to want parity and equality but the reality is they strongly and rigidly oppose any change regarding race and resources to correct past disparities. They come to the Virgin Islands with their robotic fake smiles, fooling some of the people. Not all of us by the act. They use meritorious manumission to divide us. They divide, then choose a side which then beholden to it like NY mayor Adams was beholden to Trump for dropping his federal corruption charges..We must be smarter than to take the bait. Disunity,,division play right into their hands, tentacles. They see blacks as having no rights,,privileges, they have a duty to homey. They abhor having to playing second fiddle to blacks, seeing blacks as a lowly underclass, out group, bottom feeding. They are not all bad but the problem is which ones to trust. When a snake bite you, you don’t go looking for the snake with blood on its mouth. You see all snakes as threat and avoid them. Peace!!

What is racism?” Racism is a group based power and economic control phenomenon in which one racial group owns and controls so much wealth and resource power that it can enslave , subordinates , exploit , exclude or render another group non-competitive(DrClaude Anderson -A Black History Reader).” Slavery and colonialism exhibits all the forgoing negative qualities and more. The slavery and colonialism institution want us to pretend that if we pretend, ie, get rid of the history of slavery,,etc, it didn’t exist. For example, the push now is to bury any contributions by Blacks. Dr Anderson noted, racism is a group exercise. As a group, whites were able through brute force, exploitation, etc., amass all the wealth, resources, power, control, levers of government, etc. In the mean time, blacks were deliberately through power, force, etc, kept at bottom impoverished and powerless and then blame for their deplorable conditions in which they find themselves. Blacks are handicapped and continues as a underclass with the help of their own through disunity, appeasers, brown nosing, etc. Colonialists skillfully exploit weakness to their advantage. Wherever the colonialists go they divide the population, ie, Africa, India, Caribbean, Americas, etc, encouraged groups to fight among themselves while they set up the exploitation mechanisms, then chose a side which then becomes beholden to themselves while..This is pure self-hating and it costly and continues to cost. Stop it. Be proud of who you are. Others are proud of who they. Whites have disagreements but they don’t let it harm the group. In decision time, they stick with the group, not splintering. Why do blacks have to self-hate? Why can’t blacks emulate the strategies and tactics that made other groups successful. Blacks have wasted enough time already. There is enough room for more kings and queens of the heap.

    1. In this world of sin sick actions, God or creator is the most hater person.
    2. Tuth is the most hated Word, l
    3. Love is the most hated principle.
    4. The gathering of future ashes (temporary material wealth) is the most sort after thing.

    NowTo The Contrary:

    1. Satan is the most followed leader.
    2. Hate is the most destructive character.
    3. A Lie is the spoken word.
    4. Deception is the most majical blinder.
    5. Thief is the most unjust action done, and continuing.
    6. Death is the most just reward against haters of neighborly unity among human beings, integration, true peace, and happiness.

What Hon. Ronnie Skelton said is not evil, except he may not be right, reference to the topic issue review, that of the 300 plus recommendations that the UK is the most rasist of all governments, but the surly is among the list from one to ten (1 to 10), in my honest opinion. It, the UK'S government speaks for itself about it mindset against
the population of the people of the B.V.I.

Dictatorship policy against our God given right of freedom of choice is not welcome, not even by our local government leaders.

    Silence doesn't always mean agreement.

As you doing it unto others, the same will be done unto you, sooner or later.

Choose to, and do good, rather than evil, God our Creator being our strength, and sustainer.

Undoubtedly, slavery was dehumanizing, racial and economic exploitation, causing entrenched disparities between between black and white, slaves and masters, haves and have nots, etc. It was diametrically different than/from Ancient and Roman slavery. It was more extensive with harsher subjugation imposed on any group/race of people ever. The legacies of slavery and associated pathologies still lingers in the region.

Moreover, in addition to being abusive, exploitive, dehumanizing, etc, it was also a social dependency institution, resulting in powerlessness, poverty, and dependency. What is lacking is a self-empowerment plan. Blacks lacks a robust, self-empowerment alternative economy in functional communities. After education and training, they , for the most part, have to be employed in an economy control by the dominant group, for there are limited other choices. For example in the US, Blacks have a $1.3T discretionary income. Some scholars suggest that if it were a country, it would be the 8th largest economy. However, over 96% of the incone is spent outside the black functional community(s) with businesses which don’t share their interests . They lack the ability to capitalize on the alchemy of spending local, enjoying the multiplier effect in the economy. A self-empowerment plan is way past due, shedding the dependency mode and developing some independence in the socioeconomic and political arena. Cannot depend on others to do for you what you should be doing for your self. Dependency has built -in, self/serving motives, interest, etc. Disunity, lack of group effort, etc, is a hindrance to progress, preventing moving the ball forward.
