Late legislator Carvin Malone gets graveside visit on 65th birthday
Mr Malone, who died on January 14, 2024, served as the Minister for Health and Social Development (2019-2022) during one of the most difficult times of the global COVID-19 pandemic. He was also a VIP Member and was its long-time President, before entering elective office.
Among those gathered at graveside were Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5), Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4), Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Dr the Hon Karl Dawson (R1) and Opposition Member Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8).
Pledge made to carry on Carvin’s ‘rich legacy’
According to Carvin’s brother, Mr Kedrick E. Malone, on a social media post, everyone pledged to carry on his rich legacy in the various arenas where he left his mark.
“We all agreed that it will take all of us working together to fill his shoes. He has left a void that only time can heal. So on we go!” Mr Malone stated.
The late Mr Malone was defeated in the 2023 General Elections in his bid for a second term, however, remained very active in educating the public on topical issues with his One Virgin Islands Agenda platform.
He was late to rest at the Road Town Methodist Church Cemetery on February 2, 2024, following an official funeral at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

I will always Remember family members who have left a mark in my life. Special days and ocasions will not be forgotten. We are no island by our selves we need each other no matter how difficult it gets in life.

A better plan would have been to take his widow a bouquet or fruit basket. Care for the living. We can’t do anything for the decease.
