CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI - USIV Senate President Novelle E. Francis, Jr., today, October 13, 2023, has publicly announced the solemn occasion on which the body of the late former Senator Alicia "Chucky" Hansen will lie in state.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 19 at the Legislature on St. Croix.

Hansen, affectionately known by many as "Chucky", recently passed away at the age of 70. Her legacy in the Virgin Islands political sphere is marked by her remarkable 11 terms of service in the Legislature.

Over her tenure, she held significant positions including Secretary, White House Liaison, and Vice President of the Senate.

The public viewing will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Frits E. Lawaetz Legislative Conference Room situated at 3022 Golden Rock, Christiansted, St. Croix.

During this time, both members of the 35th Legislature and the broader community are invited to pay their respects and remember the contributions of the late senator.

The following day, on Friday, October 20, the funeral services for Senator Hansen will be conducted at the Friedensthal Moravian Church in Christiansted.
