Late Attorney Jamal S. Smith to be buried on May 18, 2024

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Immediate family, residents, friends and professional colleagues are still in both shock and mourning over the death of Attorney Jamal S. Smith who was found dead in his home located in Manuel Hill around March 12, 2024.

While it is our understanding that police have questioned persons, no arrest has been made for his murder.

May 18, 2024, is burial

The family have announced that the homegoing service to celebrate the life of Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Center in Baugher's Bay on Tortola. 

The pre-service and viewing will begin at 9:00 am and the service will begin at 10:30am according to a family spokeswomen.  In addition, a vigil service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Tortola Memorial Service- Davis Funeral Home in Purcell Estate for the late Attorney.

Police have said that the investigation of Mr. Smith is ongoing and that if the public has any information, they to contact them via Crime Stoppers at 1-284-800-8477-(TIPS) or the police intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

A strong advocate

The deceased who was an outspoken community-minded resident on social and political issues founded his own law firm Thornton Smith and was a popular lawyer. He is survived by his father Roy Smith and sisters Saria and Kayasha and brothers Jarel, Romoy and Rokeem.
